On Thursday, February 27, students of the University of Applied Science Zuyd, had an inspiring visit to Solarge, as part of the SolarNL project. This visit perfectly ties into the new project for all second-year Engineering students: "Solar Rover"!
In this project, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering students join forces to design and build a vehicle powered by solar energy that doesn’t just move but can also perform tasks. To support this, Zuyd introduced new courses, including "Electrical Components", where students explore solar energy from fundamentals to innovations and system-level applications. And of course, what better way to bring theory to life than with a field trip to one of our SolarNL partners?
Exciting challenges, hands-on learning, and real-world impact – this is what engineering at Zuyd is all about!
